Summer Youth Camp Programs in brief

  • ਸਾਲ 2017 ਦੇ ਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕੈਂਪ: - ਸ਼ੁਰੂ    ਅਗਸਤ 7 ਨੂੰ    ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ    ਅਗਸਤ 11, 2017 ਨੂੰ ।

  • ਇਹ ਕੈਂ`ਪ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਸਵੇਰੇ   9:00 ਵਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਲੈਕੇ ਸ਼ਾਮ    3:00 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਚਲਿਆ ਕਰੇਗਾ।

  • ਸਾਰੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਂ`ਪ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਓ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਕੈਂਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਬਨਾਈਏ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਇਥੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਲਾਹਾ ਲੈ ਸੱਕਣ।

    Akali Singh Society of Vancouver holds a Summer Youth Camp for one week during the month of August each year. Everyday in the morning, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. different youth groups do Gurbani Shabad Keertan, which is followed by Ardaas and then Hukam from Guru Granth Sahib is taken by one youth.

    After this the Youth goes to different rooms as scheduled by their teachers. The youth are given the opportunity to learn Punjabi Language, Keertan, Musical Intstruments, such as, Harmonium, Tabla, Sikh history, including the history of the lives of the Sikh Gurus, reading of Gurbani from Guru Granth Sahib, learning Gurbani Shabads, whereas, some of them also learn to do Ardaas.

    There is one Tea break and one Lunch break. Youth love the good food served by the Society.

    After the Lunch Break, youth have the opportunity to play games, such as, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, rope skipping and Tennis for an hour, outside in designated areas within the boundaries of the Society. Committee members and Volunteers supervise them.

    Everyday, a guest speaker is invited by the Society who talks for about an hour on a topic related with the lives of the Sikhs in Canada or else where.

    To join the Camp, parents and youth are required to fill a Registeration form, at least a couple of weeks in advance. There is no cost for the entire Youth Camp Programs. Parents need to either drive their children to and from the Camp site or make arrangements with other parents. It is entirely the parent's responsibilty. Parents are reminded for their cooperation in bringing their youth to the camp on time, i.e not later than 8:50 am, every day.
